Rwanda landlocked in East, and Central Africa is nicknamed as the ‘ Land of a Thousand Hills’; because of its green and stunning mountainous landscapes. It boasts of its majestic volcanoes and spectacular wildlife. Though Rwanda has suffered a turbulent history in recent years, it has one of the fastest growing tourism sectors in Africa today; as a result, the industry contributes the highest amount of foreign exchange for the country’s government. Rwanda is home to golden monkeys and a third of the worlds endangered mountain gorillas. This 2 Days Gorilla Trekking Rwanda takes you to Kigali for a city tour and a gorilla trek in volcanoes national park.
Volcanoes National Park is located in a small village called Musanze a 2 hours drive from Kigali. It is very accessible by public transport from Gisenyi or Kigali or the airport. Therefore it’s possible to do gorilla trekking on the same day and drive back to Kigali after the trek. Arrival time at the headquarters entrance of ORTPN in Kinigi is 7:00 am. However, there isn’t any public transport from Musanze to the headquarters of the park at Kinigi.
Day 1Kigali to Volcanoes National Park.
Our guide will pick you from your lodge in Kigali at 9 am. Enjoy the Kigali city tour where you will visit the Rwanda genocide memorial site and the local market. Have lunch and drive to Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi guesthouse (B.L.D)
Day 2Gorilla Trekking- Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters to be briefed about the do’s and don’t s while with the mountain gorillas. A park ranger leads a group of 8 individuals during this fantastic adventure. After the Gorilla trekking, you will have lunch and later visit the twin lake Bulera and Ruhondo. Then after the 2 Days, Gorilla Trekking Rwanda drive back to Kigali International airport ready for your flight home.
